Key Qualifications:
- Diploma from an accredited two-year OTA/PTA Program is required.
- Experience in Neuro rehabilitation is advantageous.
- Inpatient acute care experience is necessary.
- Current BCLS certification and proof of ongoing education are required.
- A reliable, flexible, and self-motivated professional with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and documentation skills are essential.
- A positive work and attendance record is crucial.
Position Summary:
- As an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, the OTA/PTA provides patient-centered clinical care under the guidance of a Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
- Responsible for delivering goal-oriented treatment interventions and patient/family education to meet physical, emotional, and self-care needs.
- Communicates timely and relevant information regarding patient performance to the team.
- Plays a key role in coaching and mentoring, utilizing critical thinking skills to enhance patient outcomes and team dynamics.
- Engages in program planning, continuous quality improvement, and evaluation efforts.
- Supervises OTA/PTA students, volunteers, and co-op students as required.
- Provides clinical teaching and mentoring for OTA/PTA students, engaging in inter-professional education experiences.
