Job Overview

As a Senior Environment Artist at Ubisoft, you will be responsible for creating captivating 3D environments within an immersive world. Your role will involve working closely with level designers and the art director to discuss and understand game intentions and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop game environments that meet artistic and technical requirements;
  • Perform research to gather written descriptions and visual references for environment design;
  • Set up placeholders and submit modeling and texturing requests to artists;
  • Balance artistic aspects with technical constraints to ensure efficient and effective environment creation;
  • Integrate and build assets into the game engine to set and dress a polished scene;
  • Ensure integrated work is aligned with artistic direction and makes sense gameplay wise (test and improve).

Requirements

  • A college diploma in 3D Modeling or equivalent;
  • Experience in modeling, texturing, lighting, and image processing, or other relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of 3D software (e.g. 3DS Max or Maya) and optimization techniques;
  • Understanding of art fundamentals: lighting, composition, color theory, etc.;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Curiosity, flexibility, and resourcefulness;
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail.
