YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

As a vital member of the Energy Department, you will report directly to the Manager of Regional Finance & Strategy. Your role will encompass providing engineering assistance on key energy initiatives, energy conservation projects, energy oversight plans, energy expenditure modeling, and applications for funding within the Ontario Region. Additionally, you will lend your support to the operations at the company's Detour Lake and Macassa mines. Your contributions will be crucial in achieving set objectives while upholding Agnico Eagle's core values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Developing and assessing financial models for strategic energy initiatives, including providing discounted cash flow analyses;
  2. Evaluating technical and financial assumptions for projects;
  3. Reviewing energy capital initiatives for AFEs and budget considerations;
  4. Compiling data for energy management strategies;
  5. Assisting in energy conservation projects;
  6. Participating in technical evaluations and design of energy initiatives;
  7. Maintaining and tracking cost models related to electricity, diesel, and carbon taxation;
  8. Collaborating with professionals across operations, engineering, and finance;
  9. Performing additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO EXCEL:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline pertinent to the mining sector;
  2. Experience in operations, project engineering, or financial modeling within the mining industry;
  3. One to two years of relevant experience or internships in the mining sector, consulting, or energy-intensive industries;
  4. Experience with energy efficiency or carbon reduction projects in previous roles or academic settings;
  5. Strong technical writing skills;
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
