Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer (Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) to enhance our expanding team.
Role Responsibilities
As a key member of our engineering group, you will focus on the design, tendering, and contract management of mechanical systems, including:
- HVAC systems
- Process exhaust systems
- Hydronic systems
- Plumbing and drainage
- Fire protection systems
This role offers the chance to work on a variety of projects, collaborating with teams across North America.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Hands-on experience with process engineering systems, including compressed air and fueling systems
A strong understanding of relevant codes and standards, including the Quebec Building Code, National Building Code, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards, is essential.
Key Duties
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement process engineering systems.
- Participate in site assessments to verify the performance of mechanical systems.
- Provide technical support to project teams and clients.
- Assist in preparing engineering calculations and reports, staying updated with advancements in mechanical engineering.
- Coordinate with architectural teams and other engineering disciplines.
- Design building-related systems, including HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Support the design of industrial systems such as compressed air and lubrication systems.
- Ensure compliance with energy standards during design development.
- Oversee the production of construction documents and conduct quality assurance checks.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- 7-10 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial and transit facilities.
- A professional engineering license.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP, MicroStation, Revit, and related software.
- Strong collaboration skills with clients and contractors.
- An excellent understanding of relevant codes and standards.
