Job Summary

RhynoCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Nanaimo area. As an LPN with RhynoCare, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of long term and acute care facilities, providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care, within the scope of practice of an LPN.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
  • Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
  • Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.

Requirements

  • Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), and proof of negative TB skin test within one (1) year, as well as Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shift times, including eight (8) or twelve (12) hour shifts.
  • Ability to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
  • Ability to be reliable and available for placement at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
  • Compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
