Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Harmony House. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for administering medications, conducting specimen collection, and ensuring infection control. You will also monitor nutritional intake, observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects, and take vital signs. Additionally, you will provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, and provide nursing services within defined scope of practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
  • Conduct specimen collection and processing
  • Ensure infection control and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Monitor nutritional intake and provide education on healthy eating habits
  • Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects
  • Take vital signs and monitor patient progress
  • Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
  • Provide nursing services within defined scope of practice
Requirements:
  • Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
  • Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Criminal record check
  • Driving record check (abstract)
  • Immunization records
  • Tuberculosis test
Working Conditions:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. The role will involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and may require occasional lifting and bending.
