About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Alstom Gruppe. As a Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and validating network and telecom solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and deploy network and telecom solutions, utilizing your expertise to solve complex problems and develop objectives for self and others.
  2. Work in a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating with design, engineering, and commissioning teams to integrate radio and TCP/IP networks.
  3. Develop and maintain documentation, including System Functional Specifications, Architecture Design descriptions, and Interface Control Documents.
  4. Trace system requirements to DOORS and work with the Backbone Communication Network team to assist the Lead System Designer as needed.
  5. Perform Communications Engineering tasks in support of program objectives, using traffic generators and network management tools to design systems that meet network performance, management, and monitoring objectives.
  6. Conduct capacity analysis for Communication Networks and document technical data generated by assigned projects, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  7. Perform network maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring documents are delivered as per project Documentation plans and aligning Data Communication System project team members with V&V plans.
  8. Participate in radio and network design and implementation activities, installation, and test & commissioning activities, as well as network maintenance activities, both remotely and in the field.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in networking or telecommunications.
  2. 10+ years of experience in the field.
  3. P. Eng certification or in progress.
Desired Characteristics
  1. Knowledge to configure UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface)/ startup software of network hardware, including servers, routers, and other computer devices.
  2. Understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN.
  3. Knowledge of network security and policies.
  4. Knowledge of routing protocols and IP or SR MPLS.
  5. Ability to write and perform test cases on both network equipment and network.
  6. Understanding of system and sub-system level requirements.
