Position Overview: The role of Legal Advisor at H&R Block Canada’s Legal Department is focused on delivering specialized legal advice and support in critical areas such as third-party agreements, privacy legislation, regulatory adherence, employment law, franchise regulations, record management, and litigation oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various contracts.
- Creating and implementing privacy policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Monitoring and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Managing litigation processes and related matters.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess a Law degree and be a practicing member in good standing with a Canadian Law Society. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a corporate legal environment is required, along with comprehensive knowledge of privacy laws and data governance practices.
Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Leadership experience in the financial services industry will be considered an asset. Fluency in French is preferred for this position.
