We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in a part-time, permanent position. The successful candidate will work on the Psychosis Recovery and Treatment Unit 8 (PRT 8) and provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care to clients in different stages of their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care to clients in different stages of their recovery journey.
  • Respond to client care needs using a safe, respectful, and dignified approach.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the client care environment.
  • Collaborate with the care team to perform ongoing clinical assessments, utilize evidence-based interventions, and develop, implement, and evaluate the inter-professional plan of client care.
  • Utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and customer service in your approach to care and service delivery.
  • Work with patients from diverse backgrounds and contribute to program development.
Requirements:
  • Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current B.C.L.S. (CPR) at the HealthCare Provider Level.
  • Medication administration certification or completion of an RPN education preparation program that includes medication administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the prevention and management of aggressive behaviour.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent and strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing and addiction issues.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Proficient computer literacy.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language.
