Job Summary

The Planning Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of the Woodfibre LNG Project. This individual will be responsible for managing the EPC Contractor on behalf of the Company, developing comprehensive project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring all project milestones and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, including tasks, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with the company's overall project timeline and objectives.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with EPC contractors to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and identify the necessary resources for task completion.
  • Progress Tracking: Track project progress, monitor deviations from the schedule, and update project plans to reflect any changes in scope, timeline, or resources.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular status reports to company and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate risk management plans to company and EPC contractors.
  • Facilitation: Facilitate regular project meetings to ensure effective coordination among team members and EPC contractors.
  • Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration across project teams, addressing any resource constraints or issues, and ensuring optimal utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the EPC contractor's resource management and compliance with project requirements, including conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure quality and adherence to contractual obligations, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Address non-compliance issues promptly and effectively, and evaluate project planning and scheduling processes to recommend improvements and incorporate best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in project planning and scheduling to continuously enhance project management practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and management, involving EPC contractors, controls with heavy budgeting, cost forecasting, change management, cost estimating, scheduling and risk management experience.
  • Project Experience: 15+ years of project experience in major capital projects in the oil and gas industry, LNG project experience a plus.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, PRISM, etc.).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification: PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.
