About the Role

The Senior Corporate Counsel will be a key member of the legal team, operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and will provide a broad range of legal and commercial advice to J.D. Irving's business on various legal issues that arise from the operation of a large complex business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic decision making by providing recommendations related to legal risk management, transactions, contracts, and business negotiations with third parties
  • Provide legal and commercial advice to J.D. Irving's business on a myriad of legal issues
  • Participate in business negotiations with third parties
  • Manage multiple priorities and maintain strong organizational and time-management skills

Requirements

  • 8+ years of corporate/commercial legal experience acquired at a reputable law firm and/or as in-house counsel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
