The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Hospitalist Medicine Service physician to join our team at the QEII Health Sciences Center in Halifax. As a hospitalist, you will provide direct inpatient care for patients admitted to our service, ensuring excellent clinical care and a high level of patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Provide a full range of clinical care services, including laboratory, imaging, and consultation reports
- Ensure timely and effective discharge planning, with a focus on efficient length of stay and patient/caregiver satisfaction
- Participate in daily flow discussions and quality improvement initiatives
- Attend site-based physician meetings and contribute to the development of our hospitalist service
- Embody the Home First Philosophy of NS Health and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care
- Full-time (2 weeks per month) or part-time (variable) schedule
- Flexible schedule with equitable participation in weekend and night call
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
- Active admitting privileges at QEII site via NSH Credentialing Committee
- Up-to-date ACLS certification
