Join our team as an Electromyography Specialist
We are looking for a proficient Electromyography Specialist to become a part of the Neuromuscular Disease team at Vancouver Coastal Health. This is a valuable opportunity to make a significant contribution to our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities as an Electromyography Specialist:
- Perform a variety of diagnostic assessments to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing neurological disorders.
- Utilize electromyographic apparatus for electrophysiological evaluations and other neurophysiological assessments as required.
- Document findings and compile technical reports for the interpretation of medical personnel.
- Mentor new employees and students, providing constructive feedback to supervisors when necessary.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
- Completion of a diploma from an accredited electroneurophysiology program and a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Successful passage of the Canadian Board of Registration of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC), the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM), or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) examination.

- Strong communication abilities with patients, colleagues, physicians, and external organizations.
- Proficient in the operation of relevant equipment and contemporary computer software.
- Possess organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Physically capable of fulfilling job responsibilities.
Additional Information
Work hours and location may fluctuate based on operational requirements and agreements. Candidates selected for this role must complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
