Heavy Truck Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team at BIG RIGS TRUCK CENTRE. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our fleet of heavy trucks.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Use advanced diagnostic techniques to identify faults and malfunctions in our heavy trucks, and perform thorough inspections to determine the extent of repair required.
- Diagnose and Repair Faults: Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions, and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
- Order and Maintain Inventory: Source and procure parts and materials as required, and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure efficient operations.
- Adjust and Repair Equipment: Adjust and repair heavy trucks and their attachments to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Keep Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and testing.
- Test and Verify Repairs: Conduct thorough testing and verification of repairs to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications and standards.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and other activities to ensure the continued reliability and performance of our fleet.
- Physically Demanding: This role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting of heavy loads.
- Attention to Detail: The ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the job is essential.
- Manual Dexterity: The role requires manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform repairs and adjustments.
- Standing for Extended Periods: The ability to stand for extended periods is required, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent overtime.
- Accurate and Dependable: The ability to work accurately and dependably, with a strong sense of reliability and responsibility.
