Chief Financial Officer Opportunity

The Village of Keremeos is seeking a skilled Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership and management of the municipality's financial operations.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the CFO will be responsible for coordinating and administering all financial management, investment, control, reporting, and purchasing functions of the Village.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Five (5) years of progressive financial accounting experience in a local government setting
  • Post-secondary degree in administration, finance, public administration, or related field
  • Professional accounting designation in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants Canada
  • Budgeting experience and working knowledge of tangible capital asset management
  • Ability to work with MAIS software
  • Strong understanding of related requirements of the Community Charter, Local Government Act, and Public Sector Accounting Standards

The Village offers a competitive annual salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 and an attractive benefits package for qualified applicants interested in this part-time (2-3 days per week) position.
