Chief Financial Officer

Location: Keremeos

The Village of Keremeos is seeking a skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide overall management of the financial operations of the municipality to ensure that the policies, programs, and other directions of council are implemented. The CFO will support the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), mayor, and council in the formulation of its strategic direction for the future.

Reporting to the CAO, the CFO coordinates and administers all financial management, investment, control, reporting, and purchasing functions of the Village. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to demonstrate strong skills in strategic financial planning and management, using a collaborative style to balance competing demands. p>

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Five (5) years of progressive financial accounting experience in a local government setting
  2. Post-secondary degree in administration, finance, public administration, or related field
  3. Professional accounting designation in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants Canada
  4. Budgeting experience and working knowledge of tangible capital asset management
  5. Ability to work with MAIS software
  6. Strong understanding of related requirements of the Community Charter, Local Government Act, and Public Sector Accounting Standards

The Village is offering a competitive annual salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 and an attractive benefits package for qualified applicants interested in this part-time (2-3 days per week) position.
