Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Job Opportunity

The Village of Keremeos is seeking a skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations of the municipality. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial planning and management, ensuring the implementation of council policies and directions.

About the Role
  • Coordinate and administer all financial management, investment, control, reporting, and purchasing functions of the Village.
  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans to support the Village's growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), mayor, and council to formulate the Village's strategic direction.
  • Manage the Village's budget and financial resources to ensure effective use of funds.
  • Ensure compliance with the Community Charter, Local Government Act, and Public Sector Accounting Standards.
Requirements
  • Five (5) years of progressive financial accounting experience in a local government setting.
  • Post-secondary degree in administration, finance, public administration, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants Canada.
  • Budgeting experience and working knowledge of tangible capital asset management.
  • Ability to work with MAIS software.
What We Offer

A competitive annual salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 and an attractive benefits package for qualified applicants interested in this part-time (3-4 days per week) position.
