Job Title: Youth Programmer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Programmer to join our team at Moose Cree First Nation. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing evening and weekend activities for youth in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and schedule activities for youth in three age categories (6-13, 14-18, and 19+)
  • Collaborate with community programs, organizations, and volunteers to create activities that cater to the interests of our youth
  • Supervise and implement activities in a team setting, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants
  • Coordinate special events for the youth of Moose Factory
  • Keep records of activities and maintain social media accounts to promote our programming
Requirements:
  • College diploma in Child and Youth Worker or related social science or relevant college program
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and experience working with Aboriginal peoples and particularly Aboriginal youth
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge or experience working in a Youth Centre or recreation department
  • Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Current WHMIS and Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps or willingness to obtain
