Electroneurophysiology Specialist

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Electroneurophysiology Specialist to join our team. As an EEG Technologist, you will play a critical role in conducting electroneurophysiological tests, evaluating test results, and providing technical support to medical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts and records EEG tests on patients by operating digital equipment, adjusting equipment during test processes, and taking measurements from test data to demonstrate abnormalities.
- Formulates technical preliminary reports by analyzing recordings, describing abnormal manifestations, and forwarding impressions to neurologists for diagnosis.
- Prepares for patient tests by receiving requisitions from physicians, reviewing case history, and assessing the nature of the problems to determine test approach.
- Obtains patient history, explains procedures, attaches electrodes, and monitors patient comfort to ensure required results.
- Sets up and monitors Carotid Endarterectomy during OR procedures and advises surgeons of any changes.
- Ensures equipment is functioning correctly and reports any problems to Biomed for equipment servicing.
- Cleans machine electrodes, calibrates equipment, and maintains adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Provides input into capital equipment acquisitions and budget information.
- Graduation from a recognized program in Electroneurophysiology Technology plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CBRET) and/or the Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC).
