Job Summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking an Electroneurophysiology Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and recording EEG tests on patients, evaluating test results, and providing technical preliminary reports to medical staff.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct EEG tests on patients by operating digital equipment, adjusting equipment during test processes, and taking measurements from test data.
  2. Formulate technical preliminary reports by analyzing recordings, describing abnormal manifestations, and forwarding impressions to neurologists for diagnosis.
  3. Prepare patients for testing by receiving requisitions, reviewing case history, and assessing the nature of the problems to determine test approach.
  4. Set-up and monitor Carotid Endarterectomy during OR procedures and advise surgeons of any changes.
  5. Ensure equipment is functioning correctly and report any problems to Biomed for equipment servicing.
  6. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and provide input into capital equipment acquisitions and budget information.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have graduation from a recognized program in Electroneurophysiology Technology, plus one year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Eligibility for registration with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CBRET) and/or the Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC) is also required.
