About the Role
The Century Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at The Wexford, a retirement living residence in Tsawwassen. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the daily preparation and cooking of meals and nourishments from a menu and recipes set by the Executive Chef.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality menu items, ensuring a high standard of food quality and service.
- Operate cooking equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Assist in maintaining quality assurance standards, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with management, staff, residents, and the public, promoting positive relationships and a positive work environment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Diploma from a recognized cooking school.
- Preferred experience in a recognized establishment.
- Food Safe Certificate.
- Red Seal Certificate is a definite asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to speak and understand English competently.
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties required for the position.
