In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a 10-bed inpatient unit dedicated to delivering comprehensive homecare services.

Reporting to the Director of Men's Centre, the Clinical Nursing Supervisor will play a vital role in an interdisciplinary team that fosters recovery, empowerment, and enhanced quality of life for men who are homeless or precariously housed, and who may be facing challenges related to addiction and mental health.

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will ensure that service delivery is conducted with an inclusive and non-judgmental approach, motivating patients to actively engage in their health literacy.

This position will adhere to and exemplify a strong work ethic aligned with the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values, while also complying with organizational policies and procedures.

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor facilitates referrals by collaborating with local healthcare facilities and staff to ensure seamless patient discharge planning and admission to the Transitional Beds Program.

You will collaborate to provide quality nursing care by ensuring thorough documentation and collection of data on patients' physical and psycho-social status, effectively communicating this information to team members and visiting physicians who conduct rounds twice weekly.

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will onboard new staff to program-specific policies, conduct regular supervision and annual performance evaluations, lead regular staff meetings, and engage in professional development for both self and team members.

Adhering to all Good Shepherd health and safety regulations, you will work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risks to clients, staff, and the organization.

A Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, you must be authorized to practice in the province of Ontario and possess at least 5 years of current clinical experience.

Strong knowledge of contemporary nursing principles, awareness of personal limitations, and excellent communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal) are essential.

Valid Driver's License is required.
Attributes such as Responsibility, Availability, Adaptability, Quality, and Dignity are crucial.
Experience working with marginalized populations, mental health, and addiction is necessary.

By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we aim to reduce barriers to service and better support some of our community's most vulnerable members.

Recommended training includes Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, along with a willingness to pursue educational advancement.

Being aware of personal strengths and limitations in emotionally sensitive situations, reacting calmly and effectively, and managing stress while caring for patients with diverse medical conditions and mental health challenges are vital.

Flexibility and the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments are important.
