About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team at Manreet Construction LTD. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit tenders and quotations for drywall installation projects.
  • Supervise and lead a team of workers to ensure timely completion of drywall installation tasks.
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Install and finish drywall sheets, including measuring, cutting, and fitting to ensure a precise fit.
  • Mix and apply plaster ingredients to desired consistency for a smooth finish.
  • Install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to enhance the aesthetic appeal of buildings.
  • Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure stability and safety.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry to achieve a professional finish.
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs, and metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings.
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure energy efficiency and comfort.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts using laser alignment systems to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete drywall installation tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent exposure to dust, noise, and heights. The role requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1-2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Ability to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
