About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly skilled CAD Manager / CDE Administrator to support the BIM Manager and Project Delivery Teams in maintaining the Common Data Environment (CDE) and supervising all CAD efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the BIM Manager and Project Delivery Team(s) in day-to-day BIM implementation activities, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
  • Set up, develop, and configure the CDE according to ISO 19650 standards, assuming the role of CDE administrator and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Define discipline design organization and participation in a project, including execution of discipline work involving design approach, schedules, standards, budgets, and procedures to meet client scope of work requirements.
  • Manage and supervise CAD team members, including performance evaluations, ongoing support, and communications, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Develop and maintain Modeling/Production templates, ensuring consistency and efficiency in CAD processes.
  • Assign tasks and monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel, reviewing work to ensure applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable.
  • Develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Control templates following the organization's and Project's quality procedures and the Project's BIM production methods and standards.
  • Ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with Project standards and requirements, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Control checks on models and maintain trackers to confirm geometrical and non-geometrical information compliance with the Project's design and BIM requirements.
  • Report deviations of CAD Standards and ISO 19650 practices, ensuring prompt resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development, conduct performance evaluations, and take corrective action as necessary, promoting employee growth and development.
  • Advise engineering and project management regarding problem areas, staffing requirements, progress slippage, scope changes, budget overruns, or other events that could negatively affect project completion or profitability.
  • Participate in the company Quality Improvement Process (QIP), contributing to the development of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
  • Technical degree or certificate of completion in CAD design from an accredited technical institution (or equivalent).
  • 12 years of experience in supervisory roles within a similar industry, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience in a Consultant or Contractor Environment on Rail & Transit projects, with a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience with ISO 19650, with a strong understanding of its principles and applications.
  • Proficient in a range of BIM authoring, scripting, design review, coordination, simulations, and collaboration applications and/or platforms.

  • British Standards BS/PAS Series (1192, 91), with a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.

  • Quantity Take Off / schedule creation, with a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Construction planning, animated programme (4D) and progress reporting, with a strong understanding of its principles and applications.
  • As-built model delivery, with a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Asset Information Model Delivery, COBie, O&M and asset tagging, with a strong understanding of its principles and applications.
