About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director, Financial Solutions to join our National Bank team. As a key member of our Western Canada National Client Group, you will play a critical role in delivering financial solutions that power the growth of Canadian businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Senior Team Members: Collaborate with senior team members to manage and grow an existing portfolio of relationships, including bilateral and syndicated transactions.
  • Credit Analysis and Due Diligence: Perform high-quality credit analysis, deal structuring, underwriting, and documentation review/finalization of existing and new lending opportunities/mandates.
  • Financial Transaction Management: Complete financial transaction and borrower risk rating models, and work closely with Credit Risk Management to authorize and close transactions in accordance with the Bank's risk guidelines.
  • Portfolio Management: Independently manage an assigned portfolio to ensure covenants remain in compliance with agreed upon terms and conditions, and that annual reviews are completed in accordance with Bank policies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with teammates to ensure that client and collateral files are updated in a timely manner, and serve as a strong resource within the team to assist in developing the competencies of junior team members.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Assist the Head of Credit Execution, Western Canada, as required, in reviewing the credit quality of the National Client Group, Western Canada portfolio.

Requirements
  • Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate or upper mid-market commercial banking.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, loan structuring, financial statement analysis, financial model and capital structure assessment, and legal documentation review and negotiation.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) used in the creation of presentations, confidential information memoranda, and other written documents.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to form and present well-reasoned recommendations.
