Job Title: Senior Financial Services Director

Job Summary:

Langara College is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Financial Services Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and support to our College managers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance on financial, budgeting, internal controls, asset protection, and purchasing issues.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the College's strategic decisions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and monitoring to support responsible financial and budgetary decision-making.
  • Manage and supervise a team of financial professionals to ensure the College's financial operations are running smoothly.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with senior-level management to develop and implement financial plans and strategies.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business, economics, finance, or accounting.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) and membership in good standing with the BC institute.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior financial or accounting position.
  • Management and supervisory experience, preferably in a medium to large public sector entity.
  • Demonstrated track record of mid to senior-level management and administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting principles, methods, techniques, and standards.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
