As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service), you will leverage your expertise to conduct maintenance and repairs on intricate machinery with minimal supervision, all while adhering to a high standard of safety and professionalism. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems across a range of rental and customer equipment, exercising a high level of independent judgment.
- Travel to customer job sites for the repair and maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment; ensure service vehicle is maintained in a clean and professional condition.
- Assist in mentoring and training junior technicians as required.
- Keep accurate records and electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a timely manner on a daily basis.
- Support the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Over 5 years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Advanced mechanical skills and familiarity with tools.
- Extensive knowledge of construction machinery, including a deep understanding of schematics and diagrams.
- Must possess tools relevant to the position.
- Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.
This position is classified as Safety Sensitive in accordance with United Rentals' policies and procedures.
