We are a leading structural steel fabrication company seeking a skilled Drafter-Designer to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and organized Drafter-Designer to prepare engineering designs and drawings for our structural steel fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, particularly AutoCAD and Autodesk REVIT, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings for structural steel fabrication projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Develop and prepare design sketches and construction specifications
  • Prepare material estimates and technical reports
  • Examine drawings for conformity and errors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in structural steel drafting or a related field
  • College/CEGEP diploma in a related field (e.g. drafting, engineering)
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Autodesk REVIT
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
