Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Manager to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our department, you will provide administrative guidance and support to our scientists, trainees, and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage staffing needs and ensure compliance with UBC policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate faculty recruitment, appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes.
  • Investigate and resolve administrative issues, including staff hires, performance, and compliance with government policies and finance.
  • Provide input to the development and implementation of our department's strategic plan.
  • Maintain key links with internal and external stakeholders, including national and international agencies, educational institutions, and biotechnical companies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five years of leadership experience in an academic and/or research environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal relationship skills, with excellent written and oral communication, problem-solving, and financial skills.
  • Adaptability to changing needs and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of highly independent individuals.
