POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the guidance of the Site Supervisor or Construction Manager, the Electrical Superintendent is equipped with comprehensive expertise necessary for the installation, connection, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems serving diverse functions such as climate control, security, illumination, power distribution, and communication networks. This role entails offering direction and leadership on-site to assigned laborers while continuously seeking enhancements in production methodologies, procedures, and equipment.

  • Diverse project sites and varying shift patterns
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, modify, repair, and maintain various electrical systems and associated equipment.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical code specifications accurately.
  • Design layouts and illustrations for electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on project specifications and local regulations.
  • Prepare preliminary sketches and cost assessments for materials and services.
  • Conduct inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects, ensuring adherence to codes.
  • Oversee field teams effectively.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures diligently.
  • Track field progress and report findings to the Site Supervisor or Construction Manager.
  • Organize work fronts and develop lookahead schedules.
  • Lead a team of 10-25 workers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Must hold a valid Journeyperson certificate from the relevant provincial or federal authority.
  • Required certifications include H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, and Mobile Elevated Work Platform.
Experience
  • Experience in the industrial or energy sector is essential.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Willingness to travel to various work sites.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License is mandatory.
