Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter - Framing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for framing and constructing residential and commercial buildings, ensuring that all work meets our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
Work Site Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with exposure to:

Work Setting

The Carpenter - Framing Specialist will work on various construction projects, including:

  • Construction
  • Various locations
  • Renovation
  • Commercial
  • Residential
Tasks
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Supervision

The Carpenter - Framing Specialist will work under the supervision of a senior carpenter or project manager, with a team of 3-4 people.

Transportation/Travel Information

Public transportation is available for commuting to and from work.

The successful candidate must be able to:

Own Tools/Equipment

The Carpenter - Framing Specialist must provide their own steel-toed safety boots.
