Position Overview
This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with engineers, managers, and various departments, gaining insights into the operations and engineering functions at FortisBC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate standard design methodologies for natural gas facilities and pipelines, including the revision of material specifications, guidelines, and drawings.
- Conduct multiple site assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Transmission and Distribution gas systems.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to review technical data on new utility products and practices.
- Perform engineering evaluations, identify potential improvements and deficiencies, and compile detailed reports and proposals for current and future infrastructure.
- Propose enhancements to processes and ensure adherence to company and industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Third or Fourth year Mechanical or Chemical Engineering student.
- Currently enrolled in a Co-op Program.
- Familiarity with CAD software and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in drafting reports and memos within a corporate setting.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and P&ID drawings of piping systems.
- Effective public speaking skills.
- Possession of a valid BC driver's license (or equivalent).

This is a full-time temporary co-op position with an 8 or 12 month term.
