Financial Reporting Analyst

Position: Accountant
As a key member of our finance team, the Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including the management of contractor payments, log sales invoicing, and stumpage processing. The ideal candidate will also be tasked with tracking marine data and executing various month-end accounting functions, while providing essential support to fellow accounting personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute contractor payment processes, including data entry, contract oversight, and bi-monthly payments.
- Manage log sales invoicing and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare accruals and facilitate payments related to stumpage and waste management.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial entries.
- Track marine data and manage invoicing for marine services.
- Process accounts receivable transactions efficiently.
- Support the generation of internal recurring reports, as well as ad hoc and statutory reporting.
- Provide backup assistance to other accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing or operational accounting.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Familiarity with the forest industry is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and courteously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and other departments.
- Take ownership of the quality and timeliness of work produced.
- Understand the value of teamwork and contribute positively to the team environment.
