Job Summary

FortisBC is seeking a skilled Technical Analyst to provide technical support to our end users. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for providing frontline and advanced technical support, administering technology requests, and performing departmental deskside/helpdesk functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to end users, including desktop computing, mobile computing, communications, and network infrastructure
  • Administer and complete advanced technology requests
  • Perform departmental deskside/helpdesk functions, including problem receiving, recording, and tracking
  • Administer departmental software and hardware inventory records
  • Perform upgrades, installations, and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Respond to client calls and incident tickets for support
  • Research and provide advanced end-user solutions for hardware and software
  • Administer software licensing and provide advanced support for mobile and smart devices
  • Repair computer software and/or hardware and arrange for external vendors to obtain repairs and quotes when necessary
  • Assist senior staff on various projects and create device images and software packages for deployment
  • Set up and deliver PC equipment, recycle excess surplus equipment, and process quotes and arrange procurement
  • Track work performed in the problem management system, prepare progress reports, and administer and maintain corporate workstation assets
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's computer systems and administer multiple resources, task breakdown, and delegation, and set milestones
  • Estimate and execute a series of tasks required for minor or intermediate projects and provide intermediate support to the technical analyst 1
Requirements
  • 2-year diploma in computer or electronics technology, computer science, or a related field
  • 4 years of related work experience
  • Competence in executing small projects and related work experience and a strong understanding of current operating systems, imaging processes, software deployment, and server environments
  • Maintaining business contacts with suppliers, service reps, and other businesses
  • Windows Server-based network environment, including user maintenance, scheduling, printer configuration, remote connectivity, and Microsoft Office applications, collaboration, and communication systems
  • Advanced working knowledge of peripherals and network-attached devices, including printers, scanners, plotters, cameras, mobile, and smart devices
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's license
