About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Manager, Health, Safety, and Wellness to join our team at Belron Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health, safety, and wellness strategies and policies to promote a culture of excellence in these areas.
  • Collaborate with the London headquarters to advance our health, safety, and wellness culture and deploy key guidelines and management tools.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the management system action plan, including change management and communication of new policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees on occupational health and safety issues, including safety culture, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Participate in identifying, assessing, and documenting health and safety risks for employees at work and recommend technical, organizational, or personal protective measures as necessary.
  • Support the prevention of work accidents and incidents by conducting investigations and analyses and implementing corrective measures.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness by maintaining processes, structures, and resources to effectively manage emergency situations.
  • Lead financial reviews of claims files with our external provider and follow up with the technician for proper claims management.
  • Stay informed of evolving regulatory and legislative requirements and trends in health, safety, and wellness and ensure that our programs, policies, and practices comply.
  • Present results, lessons learned, and support managers in OHS leadership and prevention.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for headquarters and management committees.
  • Promote prevention, awareness, and engagement in health, safety, and wellness throughout the organization.
  • Recommend annual OHS performance targets to continue improving established results and activities.
  • Lead the HSW team and provide support to direct reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences or Human Resources and a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a multi-site environment in Canada, with knowledge of various practices and laws applicable to OHS.
  • Experience in retail within corporate and franchised businesses and distribution is an asset.
  • Experience in claims management and supplier management.
  • Ability to influence staff to implement different procedures and rules and to enforce and maintain corporate standards.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Structured, organized mindset with attention to detail.
  • Agility and comfort in adapting to change.
  • Proficient in French and English for internal and external communications.
