About this Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team at Cenovus. As a key member of our Process Safety Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our facilities and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on process safety, focusing on preventing loss of containment during all operational phases.
  • Lead the development and implementation of process safety standards, including regulatory requirements and external provider guidelines.
  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment, and provide recommendations for mitigation and control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perspectives and optimize hazard identification and risk control solutions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to improve process safety awareness and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Participate in or lead investigations of significant process safety events, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered for practice in Alberta.
  • 8+ years of operational experience with demonstrated process safety, hazard identification and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
