About Our Opportunity

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor, Support Services to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of managerial responsibilities and legal operational activities to ensure the provision of effective and consistent legal operations within our organization.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Manage and support the efficient and effective operation of several offices within the Halifax Region, including day-to-day management of business and financial processes.
  • Lead a team of legal support professionals tasked with supporting the varying operational needs of our organization.
  • Develop and implement objectives and strategies to improve service efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring alignment with core human resources, financial, business, and administrative systems and processes.
  • Work with fellow Supervisors to influence the development of our organization's overall mission, purpose, and mandate, and ensure the effective operation of our services.
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a candidate with a paralegal or legal assistant diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, plus several years of directly related experience supervising a team. You will require proven ability to successfully supervise a team, including experience in recruitment and selection, training, performance and attendance management, coaching, and developing staff to meet their fullest potential.
