Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance on waste equipment, including compactors and balers, to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostic checks on structural, electrical, and hydraulic components to identify and address potential issues.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspections throughout New Brunswick to prevent equipment downtime and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the team's goals and objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working on machinery, including hydraulics or electrical systems, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams and mechanical blueprints to diagnose, repair, and replace various parts and components.
  • Attention to detail and experience working with hand tools, such as drills, grinders, wrenches, hammers, and measurement tape.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and a safety-first mindset.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions year-round and wearing protective clothing while working in or near garbage, recycling, or compost material.
  • Welding or millwright background is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
