About the Opportunity

Join Nova Scotia Health Authority as a Cardiac Sonographer and contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions using non-invasive cardiovascular technology equipment.

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested, adhering to the department's standards and techniques. Your expertise will be essential in helping patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
  • Experience in a tertiary care setting an asset
  • Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo preferred
  • Experience with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7 and Xcelera Workstations an asset
  • Experience with General Electric Vivid E95 an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

This is a full-time position with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. The assignment is approximately 12 months, with shift work required, including evenings, nights, and weekends.

Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $34.24 - $39.96, with the possibility of a Market Adjustment. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
