Job Overview

The main objective of the Strategic Development Associate is to onboard, cultivate, mentor, and assist a group of 8-15 emerging Advisors over a span of 36-48 months, employing a comprehensive strategy for business growth (including insurance and wealth management), sales enhancement, and client service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide emerging Advisors through onboarding, training, and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with developing Advisors to achieve financial and strategic goals (such as sales growth, productivity, and client engagement).
  • Monitor necessary measures to ensure compliant operations at the Financial Centre Level.
  • Ensure that assigned Advisors are adequately trained, licensed, registered, and adhering to defined products and suitability to maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational obligations.
  • Recruit, select, train, and onboard new Advisors while actively overseeing the successful implementation of an Onboarding Plan.
  • Address client complaints, including assessment and advisor investigations.
  • Ensure operational effectiveness aligns with business plans by monitoring adherence to Advisor Agreements, data, and metrics activities.

Qualifications for Success:

  • In-depth product knowledge of insurance and wealth management offerings; strong understanding of local market characteristics.
  • Proven sales management and business development capabilities.
  • Exceptional mentoring, coaching, performance management, and influencing abilities.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and relationship-building skills.
  • Prior experience leading teams through significant organizational changes within a matrix environment.
  • Experience in an Advisor role with a demonstrated history of developing successful advisors is advantageous.
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of the regulatory landscape.
  • Bilingual proficiency (French and English, both oral and written) is essential for frequent interactions with colleagues and internal partners across Canada and globally.

Educational Background:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the financial services sector.
  • Must possess a valid Life Insurance Agent's license in the province of employment.
  • Willingness to complete the Branch Manager's Course Examination and fulfill the experience requirements to register as a mutual fund branch manager with the appropriate provincial securities commission.
  • Must maintain good standing with applicable regulatory bodies.
  • A professional financial services designation is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in various technologies, such as the Sun Vision Financial Analyzer.
