Job Summary:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Technologist I to join our team at Rockyview General Hospital. As a Cardiology Technologist I, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for non-invasive cardiac testing, including Holter Monitoring, Exercise Tolerance Testing, and Ambulatory Monitoring.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients on equipment function as required.
  • Collect client history for procedures and document information for physicians.
  • Analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation.
  • Provide expertise in the set-up, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Implement resuscitation measures when necessary.
  • Precept, orient new staff and students, and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees and/or students.
  • Serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology.
  • Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologists (ASRCT).
  • Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exercise tolerance/Stress testing experience.
  • Experience related to the application, processing, and review of Holter and event monitors.
