Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

In the role of Product Control Manager, you will oversee the provision of Profit & Loss reporting and reconciliations for the Corporate Treasury Product Control team, with a focus on the Asset Liability Management (ALM) sector. You will analyze and report on weekly and monthly trading activities, ensuring that all transactions, reconciliations, and attestations are precise and comprehensive. You will conduct reconciliations to confirm that figures are accurately aligned with the systems of record and implement key controls to validate the integrity of Corporate Treasury P&L.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Finance, business units, risk management, and IT partners to strengthen the control environment and promote transparency.
  • Assist in the development of a robust ALM P&L reporting framework by utilizing existing and new data infrastructures.
  • Oversee the generation of weekly and monthly P&L reports, including month-end reporting and reconciliations.
  • Review and input all monthly accounting entries into the General Ledger, ensuring that figures are accurately reconciled with the systems of record.
  • Address inquiries from both external and internal clients regarding trade booking, P&L, spreads, and reporting issues.
  • Prepare analyses and reports to fulfill ad-hoc requests, such as mark-to-market assessments, Independent Price Verification (IPV), performance metrics, or regulatory disclosures.
  • Ensure that all daily and monthly procedural manuals and documentation are comprehensive and current.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the reconciliation processes and reporting, proactively streamlining workflows to boost productivity.
  • Provide recommendations to ensure sufficient internal controls and data integrity across various systems and databases.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Capital Markets setting or supporting a trading desk.
  • Familiarity with fixed income products and strategies, including bonds and swaps.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Capability to thrive in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines, resolving issues promptly.
  • Aptitude for addressing ill-defined problems and formulating clear, concise solutions with stakeholder feedback.
  • Experience in analyzing large datasets.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience utilizing Big Data to derive business insights and analytics.
  • Background in constructing financial models.
  • Comprehensive understanding of RBC loan and deposit systems, as well as downstream finance systems.
