Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stakeholder Engagement and Public Consultation Specialist to join our team at Liberty Utilities. As a key member of our planning and permitting team, you will be responsible for coordinating stakeholder engagement activities for origination stage projects, working closely with project developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans for origination and development projects, ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders, including landowners, public agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and track engagement activities, including landowner events, open houses, and social media outreach.
  • Coordinate external project communication activities, such as mailouts, newsletters, and website updates, to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.
  • Engage with a variety of project stakeholders, including farming, rural, Indigenous, regulatory, and elected officials, to build relationships and foster trust.
  • Proactively identify and manage stakeholder engagement opportunities and risks, communicating these items to the broader project team for action and mitigation.
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant field, such as communications, public relations, or environmental studies.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, event planning, graphic design, and communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex subjects to diverse audiences.
  • Public speaking experience and ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • Broad knowledge of the renewable energy industry and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
