Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Communications Consultant to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our Communications and Public Affairs team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing strategic communications plans to support our organization's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with executive leaders and department/program staff to identify communications opportunities and develop effective messaging.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, community groups, and healthcare partners.
  • Provide strategic counsel and advice on communications-related issues to senior leaders.
  • Contribute to the development of our corporate communications strategy, including short- and long-term goals and priorities.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to our reputation and relationships.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and their impact on our organization.
  • Support corporate initiatives, events, and campaigns as assigned.
  • Develop and disseminate key messages, stories, speeches, and other communications materials to various audiences.
  • Work closely with our Creative Services and Content Manager teams to execute communications plans.
  • Ensure all communications products and materials are on-brand and align with our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Affairs) or recognized equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a communications strategist and generalist in a public affairs and communications environment, with a minimum of 2 years in a healthcare setting.
  • Solid knowledge of marketing and public relations principles and practices.
  • Strong media relations skills and working knowledge of print, broadcast, online, and social media.
  • Superior writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into compelling messages.
  • Highly developed project management skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and judgment skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external partners.
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach junior staff to grow into emerging leaders.
  • Experience working with various technologies and platforms, including social media, website, and intranet content development and management.
  • Demonstrated experience championing best practices in communications.
