Job Summary
Okanagan College is seeking a highly qualified Vocational Instructor to join our team in the Early Childhood Education department. As a Vocational Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and professional development to students in the field of Early Childhood Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instructional duties, including teaching assignments, course and program preparation, and evaluation of student work.
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and the college.
- Provide student advising and support to ensure student success.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field and enhance teaching practices.
- Contribute to the development of the Early Childhood Education program and department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- Current License to practice as an Early Childhood Educator.
- Instructor's Diploma or valid BC Teacher's Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment.
- Five or more years of experience working with young children.
- Experience in curriculum development and teaching in a post-secondary setting.
- Strong community partnerships and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established teaching record with a demonstrated learner-centred teaching philosophy.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a computerized environment and demonstrate knowledge of programs relevant to the discipline.
