Security Locksmith Specialist

Job Summary
The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled Security Locksmith to join our team. As a Security Locksmith, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and procedures related to locks and doors, as well as the Restricted Key System of Manitoba Housing.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair locks and doors to ensure the security and safety of Manitoba Housing properties.
- Manage and maintain the Restricted Key System, ensuring that all keys are properly accounted for and that access is restricted to authorized personnel.
- Collaborate with Property Managers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that security policies and procedures are followed.
- Develop and maintain written materials, such as reports and manuals, to document security procedures and policies.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders to ensure that security needs are met.
Requirements
- Extensive work experience as a practicing locksmith, including cutting keys, pinning locks, repairing/ replacing doors and hardware, and writing key bidding sheets/master and sub-master key systems.
- Experience with electronic security systems, including integration with card access, intercoms, and alarms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce written materials and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and develop positive working relationships.
- Proficient in Excel and experience with MS Office Suite Applications (Word, Outlook, and MS Teams).
Working Conditions
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver's license.
- Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required.
