Clinical Information Specialist I

Your Opportunity:
As a Clinical Information Resource Specialist I with the Poison and Drug Information Service (PADIS) team at Alberta Health Services, you will provide expert consultative services regarding poison and toxicology, and occupational toxicology via telephone to both the public and healthcare professionals. In this role, you will extract, interpret, and summarize the most up-to-date medical resources and latest research when providing information, treatment options, and recommendations about exposure to poisons, chemicals, or toxins, prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative services regarding poison and toxicology, and occupational toxicology via telephone to both the public and healthcare professionals.
- Extract, interpret, and summarize the most up-to-date medical resources and latest research when providing information, treatment options, and recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with team members, peers, and internal and external stakeholders to build and foster reciprocal relationships and consensus.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in Nursing or Pharmacy.
- Active or eligible for registration with the applicable college.
- Emergency/ICU or critical care nursing experience and/or drug information background.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong clinical assessment skills and working knowledge of pharmacy.
- Proven ability to build and foster reciprocal relationships and build consensus.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members, peers, and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated independence.
