About the Role:

This is a dynamic leadership position that requires a seasoned fundraising professional with a proven track record of success in major gift fundraising, donor engagement, and team management. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major gift donors, providing leadership to the Donor Engagement function, and working in partnership with other Directors of Development to co-lead a growing team of professional frontline fundraisers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a portfolio of major gift donors to secure significant funding for the Faculty of Medicine.
  2. Provide leadership to the Donor Engagement function, developing and implementing strategies to engage donors and alumni.
  3. Work in partnership with other Directors of Development to co-lead a growing team of professional frontline fundraisers.
  4. Develop and implement best practices across the team to ensure we are resourced, supported, and aligned to meet our development and alumni engagement goals.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree and a minimum of eight years related experience in major gift fundraising, donor engagement, and team management.
  • Proven success in major gift fundraising, donor engagement best practices, strategy development, and staff coaching and supervision.
  • Effective and inclusive communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with donors, corporate executives, Faculty members, peers, and university administration and staff.
  • Strong management, leadership, and relational skills, with the ability to navigate all relationships with nuance, respect, and the appropriate degree of influence.

What We Offer:

The University of British Columbia offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $9,859.25 – $15,380.75 CAD Monthly.
