Job Title: Health Information Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Information Clerk to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing general reception and switchboard functions, as well as performing clerical support tasks for Health Information Services. This includes chart assembly, chart thinning, filing late reports, and data entry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to patients, visitors, and Centre staff using effective communication skills.
  • Operate a public address and paging system.
  • Perform clerical support tasks, including chart assembly, chart thinning, filing late reports, and data entry.
  • Update the ADT system with attending physician information and medical information upon admission, transfer, or discharge of patients/residents from the Centre.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 graduate diploma, Manitoba Standards required.
  • Minimum 6 months recent related experience required.
  • Medical terminology certificate from a recognized educational institution required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a recognized program for Medical Office Assistant or Unit Clerk or the first year of a recognized Health Information Management Professional program.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work extended hours. They will also be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

This is a term position and may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
