Arts Co-op Program Coordinator

The University of British Columbia's Arts Co-op Program is dedicated to providing students with enriching educational experiences that foster both personal and professional growth. We achieve this by collaborating with a diverse range of community partners and sectors, offering transformative workplace learning opportunities as an integral part of students' Arts degree programs.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Co-op Career Educator to play a vital role in the success of our program. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating undergraduate co-op programs within the Faculty of Arts.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive career and employment coaching to undergraduate students preparing for co-op positions and transitions into the workforce.
- Develop and implement effective student advising strategies to enhance engagement and retention within the program.
- Assess student performance in workplace settings, effectively resolving any issues that may arise and providing valuable recommendations for improvement.
- Evaluate student Work Term Learning Assignments each term, offering constructive feedback to support their professional development.
- Create innovative recruitment strategies, organize engaging workshops, and oversee program marketing initiatives to promote the co-op program.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with campus partners and employers, facilitating valuable co-op opportunities and fostering industry connections.
- Supervise staff positions, manage program budgets effectively, and contribute to the overall success of program initiatives.
A minimum of four years of relevant experience is required, along with an undergraduate degree in a related field. Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment is highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in career education, curriculum development, and equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives would be highly beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and fluency in a second language are considered assets. Flexibility with work hours and access to local transportation are also required.
The Arts Co-op Program offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing the flexibility of up to two days per week of remote work.
